An Open Letter to Our Clients and Community

This letter was written in light of recent events. First, we hope that you and your loved ones are well and are practicing healthy precautions for mind, body and spirit by maintaining connections, breathing deeply and engaging in fulfilling activities when possible. This letter is to help inform you of the steps we are taking in the office to protect you in effort to continue to provide the services needed at this time.

If you, or someone in your household is not feeling well, please cancel your appointment. Many of you may need to remain at home with children due to schools closing. If you need to cancel, that is not a problem. Your therapist will work to reschedule your appointment. There will be no charge for cancellations of any kind during this time.

If you are in need of a session or want to keep your appointment but have to stay home for any reason, please know that your therapist may provide telehealth sessions. This would be a session conducted by phone or video-call in lieu of meeting in person. Not all insurances cover this option but many are making provisions due to the current situation. Please contact your therapist directly if this is something you would like to pursue for the time being.

I’m sure you’ve heard the recommendations, but let me just reiterate, for your safety and the safety of all you come in contact with:

  • Wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap and warm water

  • Avoid touching your face, especially eyes, nose and mouth

  • If you are sick please stay home until fully recovered

  • If you are sick with a fever you should seek care from a physician

  • Avoid close contact with others who are sick

If you decide to come to a session at the office please be advised that sessions may be 5-10 minutes shorter as some therapists will be wiping down their office in between sessions. Hand sanitizer is available in the bathroom and in most offices as well.

In the meantime, please get outside when possible, breathe deeply. Take time for rest and relaxation, quiet and creativity.

Managing your stress and anxiety will help support your immune system!

If you have concerns, questions or feel you need to be tested, please call the automated hotline for Kankakee County: 815-802-9311.
